While taking some much deserved “comp time” after working 13 days in a row, I decided to hike the back side of West Rock Ridge off route 69 with my adventure dawg, Gracie Doodlebug. We love the way the West River courses through the forest there. While trees were still winter-naked today: green things were growing. The first Spring ephemeral flowers were popping out along the trail! Spring Beauties am a couple of violets! We heard a Pileated Woodpecker call from close by in the forest. As we were leaving, I noticed something fun and festive hanging from a vine! It was a beautiful quilted heart that quite literally told me to take it home with us… so I did! I was definitely in need of a gorgeous sign from the universe and this more than fit the bill. I am so pleased to be a proud owner of a random act of quilting kindness! What a gift! I will treasure it always!
