I found this heart a couple of days before my 40th birthday when all of my celebration plans were falling apart and my heart was feeling heavy that day. I decided to visit a favorite thrift shop to cheer myself up, and on the walk back to my car, I saw the heart on a fence post near the parking lot. I got excited about seeing unexpected street art, though I admit I was wary that it may have had a hidden agenda or message I may not have agreed with. I inspected the heart more and took note of the joy it was bringing me- It said it needed a home and it was clearly created with genuine care and kindness. When I looked up the website and read about this quilted heart project being about bringing cheer to a weary world, my skepticism ended and I embraced my own optimism and hope going forth that day. Thank you for this needed reminder that good things are still around us.
