A week ago as I was walking around the pond where I live in Kyfields townhome community, something caught my eye hanging in a young oak tree next to a red wooden bridge. As I got closer I noticed that it was a quilted heart. I thought someone left it there for a friend to find, but it brought joy to my heart so I took a photo. This morning as I was walking around the pond I noticed the heart on the ground and picked it up. It was then that I saw a tag and read “I NEED A HOME.” A week ago I was finishing my last week of work and was feeling sad about retiring. This morning I was also felt sad because it is the first week of retirement and I’m missing my co-workers. The heart reminded me that someone cares and I felt loved. I don’t know who made the quilted heart, but I am grateful.
