I found this sweet heart attached to a low tree branch while walking on the National Mall. I looked to see if there were others but I could find none—just a lonely heart looking for a home. It was such a lovely little surprise that lifted my heavy heart. The past nine months have proved to be the most emotionally and spiritually challenging period of my life. Finding the quilted heart was a gentle reminder that love, goodness and kindness are all around us if we slow down long enough to see it, and most importantly feel it. May God bless the hands that placed it just where I could find it, and to all that spread joy near and far.
