My dog was my constant walking companion for almost 17 years. The day after he crossed the Rainbow Bridge, I didn’t walk…I just couldn’t…but I also knew that for health purposes, I couldn’t stop walking. The first walk without him was difficult…I kept looking at places he would have sniffed and scruffed…and at things he helped me notice—the buzzing bees…squawking scrub jays…scurrying lizards…scolding squirrels…and all that made me smile, although I still really, really missed him. Then I saw a flutter and I looked up a little—and I FOUND A QUILTED HEART—with a smiling dog with sunglasses…and other smiling animals. Holding the heart in place of his leash helped me so much. Thank you, Maker of this Heart, for your message of kindness, happiness, life, love, and encouragement.
