Twin Lakes, CO USA

While vacationing in Twin Lakes Colorado this summer my husband and I took an interesting hike called Vance’s Cabin trail. Somehow we managed to miss the arrow on the sign pointing the way for Vance’s Cabin. We ended up going right instead of left. It was raining and somehow we BOTH missed that arrow and I even took a picture and still missed it. Haha So what would have been a 5 1/2 mile hike turned into a 6 1/2 mile hike. I’m not sure why we kept taking the wrong way on our hikes during this vacation, but I always tell my husband that God is most likely protecting us somehow. Who knows, maybe a mama bear and her cubs would have been on our path at just that time had we not got off course. If nothing else, a little extra exercise never hurt anybody. We always say it’s all part of the adventure.. And hiking in the rain was actually fun. We found this heart hanging from a tree at Vance’s cabin. It was really neat to find and I couldn’t wait to look it up and find out more about it when we got home. I misplaced that heart and only recently just found it. It was in a coat pocket that I had taken to Colorado with me.
2020 has been a rough year, especially for my sweet hubby, but we are so thankful that God allowed us to make some beautiful memories to take from this year. We will focus on the good we got from it and not dwell on the hard times. There are still beautiful memories to be made in 2020 and we’ve already made a few since that trip in July. I think this heart was a sign!
