Traphill, NC USA

This heart was found by four-year-old Elliot during an evening hike with his mom. The heart was hanging on a footbridge and was an exciting discovery: he searched for more throughout the walk and reminded me several times not to lose his heart. He always says his favorite color is “rainbow,” so the colorful stripes on the back were perfect for him. Now the heart is hanging on his doorknob – a treasure! – and he is begging me to teach him how to use the sewing machine to make more.

This little gift went perfectly, exactly the way you’d hope. It definitely found the right home, and we will leave more. Thank you to whomever quilted Elliot’s heart. It came at our one-year-anniversary in our new NC home, and likewise during Elliot’s first “big” multi-mile hike. I’m a little sentimental about it myself. 🙂
