I’m known as the the heartlady…and I find it amazing how the Universe always gives back…
For the past two years, I’ve gone to music festivals and handed out small rock hearts to people to share love, bring joy, and sometimes to change peoples lives or attitudes… i’ve had people come up to me after concerts or send me messages telling me that my small token changed their life changed their mood changed their day or it was the sign that they were looking for to make a decision. Seeing peoples eyes light up when they realize what I’m giving them not only fills my soul but overfills my own heart with gratitude.
This afternoon I was meeting a young woman who was selling me her festival tickets for next weekend because she had just broke up with her boyfriend. We have mutual friends and as we were talking I mentioned what I do and asked if she ever heard of me, because we have been to the same concerts and festivals. Her response she was “oh my God yes, I think I have gotten one from you at show…”
We continued to talk about relationships and how hard it is when you break up. Being in my mid 60’s I’m probably 30-40 years older than her…so I’ve been around the block a bit.
At any rate, I felt compelled to give her a heart and I knew I didn’t have any of the normal ones I give out (note to self to always carry some) I was looking around my car and opened an amber box that had a special one that was inscribed on both sides with words of encouragement. It just fit her situation so I gave it to her. At first she wouldn’t take it because it was special to me, but I insisted and told her it’s now meant to be special to you…She started crying and said it’s perfect. We hugged and parted ways…
On the drive home I stop at the grocery store as I park my car I look in a tree in front of me as I park my car and say to myself “Is that a heart?
I get out to look and sure enough the heartlady found a quilted heart…
