I was walking on the Brown Creek State Trail, listening to the audiobook The Empath’s Survival Guide, in my quest to better myself and to continue my spiritual growth, while finding a deeper connection to nature. And there it was, a quilted heart of a great gray heron, tied to the branch of a shrub with much care. I was hesitant at first as I did not want to take anything that wasn’t mine. However, curiosity won and I reached out for it, and just as carefully, untied the heart. And then, I immediately knew it was meant for me.
