I happened upon this quilted heart after arriving at a shelter on the Appalachian Trail / Long Trail in southern Vermont. I had not heard of a quilted heart before but once I found it, I felt it was meant to be. I just graduated with a degree in biology prior to starting the trail which matches the DNA print on the heart. The hungry caterpillar print on the other side matches up to the hiker hunger I’ve experienced during my time on trail. I plan to bring the heart with me all the way to Georgia!
