South Lyon, MI USA

My daughter and I were walking between two rows of apple trees on our way to see about our school donation at Blake’s Orchards in South Lyon, Michigan (formerly Erwins) when we came upon a beautiful heart hanging in an apple tree! To be honest, I was a bit hesitant at first to grab the heart, but after my daughter saw it and I saw her big smile, I took the heart off the tree and read the tag. We searched and found this site. What a wonderful concept!

We both felt rather special being in that spot at that time since we were having a rather busy and unpredictable day. My daughter is 4 and she was helping me all afternoon run errands and gather donations for our school fall festival. She had been very patient and it was a beautiful day, but she was sad we hadn’t had time to play outside yet. When she saw this and smiled it was such a sweet genuine smile, her just so happy seeing this beautiful heart! Once we learned about it she asked me, “can we take this home?” She was even more excited when I was able to answer yes!

We continued on walking and found the manager of the orchard that was helping us with in-kind donations and she shared with him that she had found the heart in one of his trees! He said, “well that must explain the beautiful smile you have.” He noticed the joy in her face too!! And she shared that joy with her brother once we picked him up from school!! What a wonderful way to brighten someone’s day!! I hope the kind person that left a heart at Blake’s Orchards knows what a difference it made today!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
