On New Year’s Day 2023, our family of 4 decided to take advantage of the mild weather in New England and start the new year with a short hike near our home. We had a new 3.5 month old Great Pyrenees puppy named Thor, who we took with us on his first hike. My kids wanted to look for “treasure,” so my husband looked up a geocaching app and there was supposed to be one nearby; however, we came up empty. About 10 minutes later, we came to a small clearing overlooking the water, and my daughter and I walked towards it to take a photo. I saw something hanging from purple string on a tree, which turned out to be a quilted heart! We had found a treasure! We hope this is a sign of good fortune and blessings to come for us in the new year.
