Raleigh, NC USA

I am a new transplant to NC. A friend and I were walking in Oakland Cemetery after Thanksgiving.

I am a hospice nurse and the hospice house I used to work for would place a quilted heart on the door knob of a patient who passed while in our care. Finding this heart made me laugh and cry because it reminded me of so many times I placed a heart on a door, all of the patients in my care over the years, and how many times I said good bye to patients and their families. This new change in my life has been beautiful and challenging. Finding this heart reminds me of where I came from and this new road I am on; where ever I am, I lead with love. And to quote the Brandi Carlile song, ‘where ever is your heart, I call home”.
I believe I was being welcomed to my new home in NC; thanks 🙂
