My 3 girls and I were headed to FDR State Park, but realized my husband had the car pass at work, so we made a quick change to walk the trails at Callaway Gardens. After most of our trail snacks had been eaten, we were slowing down a little but then were delighted to find a quilted heart!! A while later, we found another and decided to keep one and find another spot along the trail for someone else to come and find the second. The girls took great delight in finding the perfect branch to make sure the next person to come along the trail would be sure to see it.
My mother used to make felt hearts for me to keep in my pocket as a reminder of how she prayed for me every day, and today I was touched that a stranger had sent that kind of love our way at Christmas. My family has a long tradition of sewing things to express love, and my children and I are now inspired to make our own hearts to share. I took today’s discoveries as my official cue to get the craft boxes back out and start spreading more love!
