I have been going through such a difficult time having recently separated from my husband after 26 years of marriage and four children. This one day a few weeks ago had been particularly rough and I called my friend for support on the way to work. As I pulled into the FIU parking garage, my friend told me to “trust the universe—it loves and supports you. You are not alone and are where you should be. Just keep your hand in the pain box.” People were going down the same stairwell I was headed to, and I noticed as they opened the door there was something hanging off of the handle. No one touched the thing. They just ignored it. But when I got close I saw it was this heart. I was still on the phone with my friend and we both were immediately moved. For us, it was the message I was looking for and needed so much at that time. This little gift made such a difference for me that day and I still have it hanging at my desk to remind me we are not alone.
