This was the third Quilted Heart that my family found on New Years Day!
We had just left from a local dinner, because the kitchen staff were hungover from the new year celebration from the previous night. And to get home, we drove past the Elisha D. Smith Public Library. “Stop the car!” I exclaimed, and mom stopped the car, asking where it was. By this point she didn’t have to ask why I was making this sudden request. This Quilted Heart was swinging in the wind, as if it was waving at me to get attention so it could be found. As a Thanksgiving themed heart, not found until New Year’s Day, it likely had been sitting there patiently waiting for the day it would finally be found. Now it’s displayed with the other hearts that were discovered by our family.
