I found this beautiful quilted heart hanging from a tree branch on my walk around lovely Bass Lake today. The walking loop is just under 2 miles and i have started to get in the routine of walking the loop while my daughter is in gymnastics practice. Today’s walk was filled with my heart feeling so full of gratitude for this beautiful fall day. I enjoyed watching the leaves gently fall with each breeze, the lovely smells of wild flowers, the sights of turtles basking in the sun, the sweet colors of fall reflecting on the lake and a sweet duck family of a mom with two little ones in tow. During my walks i often pray and lift up to God whatever is weighing on my heart. Today right towards the end of my loop i found myself on the far right side of the path and i was admiring the colors of the leaves and there was this little quilted heart, seemingly just waiting for me. I squinted to read the little note and could just make out, “I need a home.” So I leaped up with a long outstretched arm and slid it off the branch. I felt so incredibly blessed to find it. Thank you so much to whomever felt called to put it there. It truly made my heart smile.
