Helena, MT USA

I found this beautiful heart while out doing something I love yesterday on Jan 7. I was in downtown Helena shopping on our historic Last Chance Walking Mall and subsequent blocks. I first saw the heart hanging on a fence outside a beloved restaurant that recently closed. I thought I should pick it up as I worried about the cloth getting dirty. I was thankful for the gift and decided I would check out the website when I arrived home. Like all recipients of the hearts on this site I know this heart was meant for me. The day prior, on Jan 6 I had allowed myself to have a cry about missing my Dad. He died of Alzheimer’s almost 7 years ago. My family had the privilege of taking care of him as long as we could. He loved people and taught me from a young age if you are sad or bummed out make an effort to do something for someone else. I myself try to do this; as well as I love random acts of human kindness. My Dad never lost his kind and loving personality during the time he had Alzheimer’s. He did lose his ability to speak. Towards the end, when he would see my Mom, brother, sister, his grandchildren or other friends and family he would struggle to say “love, love love”. We all miss him terribly. During my crying on Jan 6 I asked specifically for my Dad to give me a sign he still was watching over me and could see me. This heart is him saying “love, love, love”. Thank you to whoever made it, to those who started the project and to all the people who have been touched who can use our prayers and good vibes.
