I found this quilted heart in the park today while I was out with my youngest son. He is disabled and loves to be outdoors.
Today we went to the park, one that we’ve been to a million times before. But today we decided to be adventurous and take a path that we’ve never gone on before. It was quiet and peaceful.
A little history…my son was disabled at the age of 2. He will be 16 in January. He is nonverbal and immobile, but he let’s you know when he’s happy or upset. When we don’t have appointments or just aren’t too busy,I love spending alone time with him more than anything.
Lately I’ve been feeling down because of my own health issues and sometimes I just need a break away from everything but that never seems to happen.
So during our little adventure we were just walking along, my son looking around and listening to me talk about anything and everything (he doesn’t complain when I speak 🥰). When we were on our way back I noticed this colorful little something on a branch of one the bushes that we had passed only minutes ago. I don’t know how I missed it the first time. It’s like it was put there purposely for me to find. It’s a beautiful little piece of our day that will now hang on my son’s wall so we can look at it all the time, and for me to remember a day I got to spend with my little man.
Coincidentally I actually found another one on the tree that was next to our car once we got back to it but I left it there for someone else to find. I guess someone knew I needed these today. Thank you.
