On Superbowl Sunday (2024) I parked my car in a pharmacy’s lot having gone there to purchase COVID tests for our household. My wife currently has been testing positive for 5 days now and we both wanted to keep up with the testing protocol to be sure we did not pass COVID along. (I’ve been testing daily – still negative at this time.) Disappointed to find that COVID tests were no longer being provided for free and feeling concerned about others who could not afford to purchase the tests, I went back to my auto to find a quilted heart with a little sign on it hanging from a bush next to my driver’s side door. I had mixed feelings about reaching out to pick it off of the bush, but ultimately my curiosity won me over. I’m happy I did.
