My grandmother, who’s 84, recently fell and broke her hip and femur. Both required plates to be placed and the long road to recovery is now ahead of her.

Working in the medical field, I know how hard this recovery will be and that her odds of surviving past 6 months is quite low if she doesn’t have it in her to push on. I’ve been devastated about it since it happened.

I was out on a walk with my daughter when I’d discovered the quilted heart. Initially, I was surprised to find it hanging from a small bush and thought it’d been placed there in error. I quickly realized my assumption was inaccurate when I read its tag saying it needed a home.

It definitely brightened my day and gave me a sense of hope that maybe everything would turn out alright for my grandmother and that she’d soon be able to return home. Thank you for the kindness. This is what the world needs right now, it’s also what I needed.
