We came across this heart on our way up Elmore Mountain, hiking soon after a deluge that had significantly washed out the trail. We took an accidental detour and ended up on a cross-county ski trail that we noted “hasn’t seen love in a while” (it’s in rough shape and needs maintenance since the storm) which was followed by his sweet quip, “until the trail saw us”. When we finally found our way back to the main trail up the mountain, we saw some love of the variety that we were joking about, coming across this thoughtful surprise hanging on a branch arched across the trail. It put a smile on our faces and we’re glad to have a sweet memento from a wonderful day together <3
