Friday was a crummy day. 2 weeks post maternity leave and Walter and I both have a nasty cold. My office mate has not made my transition back to work easy. There are a million little fires the temp left I have been working to put out. It had rained for 120484902 days in a row and it was cold and still raining when my hubs asked me to go to the store so he’d have food for his Saturday 24h shift. I just wanted to hurry up and get home. After putting my cart away and trying to balance grocery bags, my umbrella and my purse before leaving the store I noticed this gorgeous quilted heart hanging on to a toy dispenser.
It made me smile. It made me smile big. It reminded me that simple things can cause great joy. It reminded me that there are still people on this planet who care for others, even strangers. I am not crafty enough to make these, but I will treasure my little quilted heart. Thank you, Durham, for bringing me joy on an otherwise suck day.
