On October 21, 2023 I went to my son’s monument to cut the grass and pick up the fallen leaves. This monument was made by my son’s friends at the place where he took his life 7 years ago. I had taken the lawnmower out of the truck and noticed something lying on the ground behind the monument. It was a “quilted heart”. I sat on the bench beside the monument and cried. Not because I was sad but because who ever placed this heart here, knew that I would find it. I felt very loved. I spend a lot of time there. Three days later, my daughter’s dog had a heart attack and passed away. I knew in my heart that Dylan was going to take care of Lulu. Thinking of this quilted heart made the loss of my grand puppy a bit easier. Thank you to the person that placed this quilted heart near Dylan’s monument. What a precious moment that was for me. I have placed this quilted heart on the monument for everyone to see when they come for a visit.
I had not heard about “I found a quilted heart”. I love reading everyone’s posts.
