We found out yesterday that my 86 year old mom, who has never spent a day in the hospital in her life, and takes no prescription meds, has cancer. It was quite a shock to our family. I have always thought of our large family as a quilt – with many unique pieces to give it color, and texture, and complexity, and beauty. And my mom is the “thread” that holds all of those wonderful individual pieces together to create a beautiful piece of family art. This morning I went out to our “mini library box” we have for the neighborhood to share books with others….. and inside was a IFAQH. What a wonderful surprise and what remarkable timing for me to receive this gift as I deal with my mom’s diagnosis and treatment. Thank you to my angel in the neighborhood!
