Bristol, ME USA

My husband passed a few months ago after a very brief battle with stage IV cancer. Our family gathered in Maine from NJ, FL, and CO to remember him on first birthday in heaven. We have been comforted by the beauty of ‘downeast Maine’. While my mom and I were enjoying the view at Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, Bristol ME, on my husband’s birthday, we struck up a conversation with a couple who had retired to the area from near where we live NJ. (Well, actually the conversation was started by their 2 super friendly St. Bernards, Zoe and Max.) Anyway, after mentioning that we were there to remember my husband on his birthday, they asked if we would be sitting there for a bit longer as they wanted to get something for us. They returned with this lovely heart that they had seen previously on their walk hanging in a tree, but had initially decided to leave it for someone who might really need it. I am so grateful they took the time to share the kindness with us. Thank you to the creator of this lovely heart. Our daughter and 4 grandkids will cherish it for many years to come on our Christmas tree as a remembrance of this special day in a special place gifted by a special person.
