On July 30th, I was taking my dog Iris for a walk around the Optimist Park in Belle River, Ontario, Canada. As we walked by the dog park, I noticed the fabric quilted heart attached to a branch. I noticed a pink butterfly on a pink background along with turquoise and a black floral pattern. At first I thought maybe someone dropped it and that it was there if the owner returned. But then I read the little note “I NEED A HOME”. I was very curious to look up the website to see the meaning of IFAQH.com. I felt very lucky to have found this beautiful heart because in a few days I will be finishing my chemo treatments for breast cancer after a year of treatments. The heart made me smile and I felt uplifted for the rest of the day. I showed my husband the heart where he was waiting at a picnic table. I knew the heart was meant for me to find because of my battle with breast cancer. As well, my husband has been living with ALS for many years. My quilted heart reminded me that there is light and goodness despite the challenges we are facing right now. Thank you for leaving this beautiful gift for me to find on this day. I will treasure it.
