Our family of five took our beloved dog Penny for what we anticipated would be her last trip, as she was suffering from overall failure due to osteosarcoma. We found this heart on a fence post in downtown Beaufort and it comforted us all. We lost Penny a few weeks later but that last trip was special for all of us, and the heart is a meaningful souvenir from it.
